What is the Connected Community Approach?
The Connected Community Approach (CCA) is an innovative, practical framework that enables people, organizations, businesses, and institutions to strategically improve the health & resilience of their local communities. CCA focuses on strengthening the social fabric of communities, making it possible to bridge divides, collaborate across sectors, and scale coordinated strategies to address complex issues like climate change, economic inequities, racism & discrimination.

Turtle Island (North America) has been home since time immemorial to the ancestors of First Nations, Métis, and Inuit Peoples. This land is foundational to our existence. We are grateful for Indigenous stewardship of this land and recognize that we all have a lot to learn from Indigenous ways of knowing and being. We acknowledge that many people, predominantly the ancestors of many Black Canadians, were brought to this land against their will in the transatlantic slave trade and also acknowledge that we live in a country with a dark and violent past. We commit to continuously educating ourselves so that we can be in right relationship with the land, Indigenous peoples and all people who have been harmed by colonial and white supremacist policies and practices.
May we approach our work in ways that craft a new narrative for the future; a narrative that is built on humility, honesty, empathy and justice for our planet and all the people who reside here.
